Check out the interesting statue of Dom Sebasti\u00e3o, located in the central square in downtown Lagos. The statue is said to honor the Boy King Dom Sebasti\u00e3o.<\/p>

Due to his miscalculated attack on Morocco in 1578, the young prince died at 24 years old. Portugal also lost its independence from Spain for the next 60 years.<\/p>

The statue which was created in the 70s shows a young boy wearing an ill-fitted adult military uniform. The statue is interesting to look at, and for this reason, causes a crowd to form around it.<\/p>
